Case moth caterpillar

Family Psychidae

Notes:

This seems to be a very rare spotting. I found this case moth's case (!) floating in the air, hung only by a thin silk line. Obviously the case fell from a leaf, and the caterpillar was desperately trying to go back to it. I took some time to photograph it, then I ended its misery (no, I didn't kill it, just brought it back to the leaf, as seen in photo #2...). Unfortunately, most pictures were blurred (low light, wind...) but I think that it is still possible to have an idea of the caterpillar's colors.

I added a video to this spot, that shows the caterpillar moving along a branch, carrying its case in its back.

Yes Nopayahnah, usually they keep hind in the case. Also interesting is to see how the caterpillar's colors blend with those of the case.
