Description:

Found this lesser yellowlegs (which is a medium sized shore bird) foraging in a very shallow marsh, picking at items in the water and constantly moving. This species is similar in appearance to the larger greater yellowlegs. They mainly eat insects, small fish and crustaceans.

Habitat:

Marshes, mudflats, shores, ponds
