Lobaria oregana
Also known as lettuce lichen which it resembles. The top surface is a beautiful olive green and underneath its white to brown. The lobe margins are frilly. The frills at the end of the lobes are small.
Found on the ground in the Hoh rain forest near the Hoh River. It prefers to grows in coniferous trees, especially fir trees that are in cool, humid climates.
Oregon Lungwort was used as a remedy to coughing up blood by the Hesquiat people of British Columbia.
