A medium-sized honeyeater with distinctive yellow 'ear patches' and a strong voice!

Habitat:

Our backyard. Common on the east coast of Australia.

Notes:

This bird is named for English artist John William Lewin, who was the first professional artist of the colony of New South Wales in the very early 1800s. He illustrated the earliest volumes of Australian natural history.
