I see, maybe you can report it in the Support Chat so they are aware of your problem
@BalincaguinConservancy the trinomial is saved in this case because I have done so from a desktop computer. I can't seem to get it to work from my droid app. I have tried over and over to set the scientific name in the droid app but it just doesn't save that information.
looks like it was saved, i see Gallus gallus domesticus...
For some reason the android app won't save the binomial/trinomial name and then save it.
Welcome to ProjectNoah furbjr!
You can always go back & edit a spotting by clicking the "Edit this spotting", which is at the top of the right-hand column of each of your spottings. This way new info can be added as you get them...
sorry about that. I had attempted to input that, but I didn't get it in there right the fist time.

Hi there furbjr!
Where you know the species as in this case, please can you look up & add the scientific name so that we can take this off of the "unknown" list. Because we have a global user base & sometimes many different common names for the same species, the system uses the scientific name to link similar spottings - which also means this may come up in the thumbnails on other spottings & more people may take a look & favorite it. Without the scientific name this will continue to show up as unidentified & you may get further ID suggestions from other users. The scientific name for chickens is Gallus gallus domesticus.
