More or less 1.2 mm yellow and black fly, attracted to little flowers.
Very common on upland and lowland forests with lots of wild flowers, as well as cultivated lands and urban gardens.
It does look like a little like a horse fly, but from the angle it holds its wings, I am certain it's a hover fly (it might even be trying to mimic one of those stripey horse flies!). In fact, it looks like the hoverflies in the Helophilus genus... I think I may have found your fly, shekainahdalaban! It looks like Helophilus insignis. The page I found with some info on it is from Thailand, where it is apparently common, so I think its range would cover where you live :) I'll put it in my suggestion!
I agree, this is a hover or flower fly. Very neat little insects, Great spotting!! :-) If you search flower fly or hover fly on google for your region you may be able to come up with the exact species. :-)
Thanks LauraMaria, you're right, at first I hesitate to come close I thought it was a bee.
Wow, cool! My guess is it's some kind of hoverfly, since they usually try and mimic bees and wasps with their markings :) Absolutely amazing pictures, good on you for looking close enough to see these guys!
