Description:

A low shrub that only very occasionally grows into a small tree. The leaves are bright green and only about 1.5 cm long, needle-shaped, with both margins rolled under and two small spines at the end. The inflorescence is orange to red, with long red styles.

Habitat:

Open heath, sandy shallow soils. Often in swamps
