Description:

The Critically Endangered 'Amboli Toad' (Xanthophryne tigerina) is endemic to the Western Ghats of India. This rare frog is facing rapid habitat loss and climate change too is posing a great threat to the survival of this species.

Habitat:

These are terrestrial species found near disturbed evergreen forest patches. They lay eggs in temporary ponds within small cavities of laterite rocks.
