Mockingbird Nest

Mimus polyglottos

Notes:

The momma bird only had one egg hatch and odd enough.. We watched her carry what appeared to be her chick away in her mouth? Not sure, but we checked on the nest a few days later and found it empty. It's interesting though, since the mother used plastic to help keep her nest firmly molded together.

It sounds as though the chick had died & the mother was removing it from the nest. I've moved this to birds for you. Signs of wildlife like this are categorized by the organism that created them.
