Rice Stink Bug

Leptocorisa acuta

Description:

Grey colour with a dark oval shape on back. When threatened, this insect releases a nasty stink.

Habitat:

Vegetation inside a bird sanctuary.

Notes:

Would like to set the spelling straight for my Bangla speaking friends...this is not Gandhi poka as most mispell it ...look : https://www.flickr.com/photos/69003822@N... but Gondhi poka... meaning, the insect that smells. The minor difference in the vowel makes a HUGE difference in meaning. Poka = Insect. Gondhi = Smelly. Gandhi = Gandhiji. This insect is a pest : http://www.iaszoology.com/leptocorisa-ac...
