Platycryptus undatus
My first spider eye macro! :D
You are right. I have changed it! :D
Thanks! And...I think your name is great! Or maybe, Large Diamond-backed Jumper (rolls off the tongue a little nicer). ;)
Btw, your photo is epic!
Thanks Forest Dragon. We should come up with a cooler name for this guy, like Large Diamond-Backed Jumping Spider. Sound good to you? :D
jgorneau, it seems it is also called the Tan Jumping Spider. Kind of a boring name if you ask me. Here is a picture of a big guy I spotted last summer I think. I think it's a male.http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/107...
I have since updated a much better macro of his eyes! :D
Forest Dragon, do you know his real common name? Thanks.
Thanks Forest Dragon! I love these spiders too!
I love the Platycryptus undatus. We have lots of them here. I just ran across a big female like this one on Friday when I was in the shed! Nice spot!
Thanks Karen! Thanks for the ID, too!
Awesome shot! The species is Platycryptus undatus.
