Description:

Orange butterfly with black spots on inner wing and white on outer wing. Injured left wing seems to be missing a portion.

Habitat:

Found in the suburban environment of Katy, Texas in a large yard.

This is Gulf Fritillary, a very common butterfly in TX that feeds on Passionflower. Drag the photo in here https://www.inaturalist.org/computer_vis... and the iNaturalist Artificial Intelligence will give you the same answer
