Description:

The quite big head is yellowish orange and the mandibles are long. Total lenght of the ant is almost 15 mm. This ant is locally dominant where it occurs. It forages on the ground and also climbs branches and foliage to about a meter off the ground.

In the forest.

We call these ants "hamtik" in our local dialect and one of the nearby provinces was named after it.
