Pale-banded Noctuid

Proteuxoa tortisigna

Description:

A dark noctuid with a wingspan of 30 mm. The moth had a broad pale band stretching from shoulder to three quarters of the wing, along the costal margin. Each fore wing showed a chevron pattern at the mid region of the wing and a pale spot anterior to this.

Habitat:

Attracted to garden lights - warm night.

Notes:

Larvae of this moth feed on grass and a few other plant species.
