Groundhog (aka woodchuck, whistlepig)

Marmota monax

Description:

Possible bot fly (parasite) under skin at its forehead (I read groundhogs get 'warbles' like squirrels.)

Habitat:

City park in downtown, along side the James River.

Notes:

Observed it eating clover. It was Incredibly tolerant of walkers at the park, who stopped to point and called it a beaver (?!).
