Carpenter Bee

Xylocopa violacea

Notes:

Just a little story behind these newest photos of the carpenter bees of our garden and home. They have nests just under our roof and it is OK but I guess they were bothered a little as we started the woods-tove and some smoke was too close to their nest. I found this beautiful bee on the ground just under the place their nest is and the chimney near by. She was little cold but alive and I took her inside to take some photos. After that she felt warm and strong enough to fly and return directly to her nest.
