Dark bird (slate black to dark grey-brown) of hen stature and pigeon size; with a red frontal shield, red bill with yellow tip. It has long yellow green legs with long toes. Chick and juveniles also observed.
Seen in a biggest city park in Lyon, on borders of small lakes, in a reed vegetation or tall grasses.
