Red-rumped Swallow

Cecropis daurica

Description:

A group of Swallows was chasing insects over the rice fields and plantations. Although the more common Barn Swallows were in the majority, quite a number of these Red-rumped Swallows were present too. They usually form groups together but do not interbreed. The picture shows a RR Swallow in full flight, very fast and not easy to catch on camera.

Habitat:

Open woodland with rice fields
