Lent lily

Narcissus pseudonarcissus

Description:

The lent lily is also known as the wild or common daffodil. Narcissus pseudonarcissus has a characteristically long trumpet and flowers in spring.

Habitat:

Seen in a temperate woodland, not far from a swamp in High Rock Park.

Notes:

This is an introduced and naturalized species in the US. There are numerous subspecies and varieties of daffodils which aren't easily distinguished by the naked eye.
