Large fish, about 5-7 inches. Brown/yellow/gray. Water is only 5" deep and is muddy.

Habitat:

Wetlands. Florida Everglades. 5" deep water. Muddyish water.

My grandpa got a closer picture, and it has a mouth like a bass, so that's what I'll put it as. Please let me know if it is wrong.

Thanks! I'll look up pictures of both and see if anyone knows for sure. I was amazed that I could actually see them in the picture! They blended in so well!

Nice spotting - bluegills (or brim) maybe? They can get fairly large. Or maybe even young bass. Nice spot
