Looks like it has been killed...Copperheads are indeed venomous but they are not particularly aggressive...normally they won't come after you but they will strike if threatened. Many copperhead bites happen while someone is in the act of killing a copperhead! Best to leave them alone or call for assistance from a conservation agency etc in removing them if they are in a place near people...
