Tall Greenhood

Pterostylis melagramma

Description:

An orchid about 150 mm high with about 6 flowers on the spike facing away from the stem. The hood was translucent and green with a yellow tip. Lateral sepals were drooping and the lip was yellow with a dark median stripe. Leaves were lanceolate, alternate and placed low on the stem.

Habitat:

Spotted in a nature reserve known for indigenous orchids - Baluk Willam

Notes:

This orchid was not in bloom when I last visited this reserve. A lucky find.
