June Beetle

Phyllophaga sp.

Description:

This June bug was shot in April...guess we'll have to change the name. The rains began early this year and they popped out. This guy is a larger one of about 5/8" long but they come in a range of sizes

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica beginning of the rainy season.

Notes:

this shot was taken at night under a street lamp where thousands were flying around!
