Brewer's Fleabane

Erigeron breweri

Description:

I believe this is a type of Aster. Narrow, purple petals on these flowers on top of thin stalks about 30 cm tall. The leaves are very thin and short, about 2.5 cm long that run up the length of the stalk.

Habitat:

Grassy area in riparian area. This is native to California.

Notes:

Dieteria canescens?

looks like Brewer's Fleabane.

Hi Ursula, it looks similar! There haven't been any reports of that one in this county. We have Erigeron breweri that is very similar. http://www.calflora.org/cgi-bin/species_... What do you think?

Hi Kisha, I was debating between Fleabane and Aster. We have several species and subspecies of both genus. Any thoughts on which one?
