Appreciate the compliment, Adarsha. As annoying as these birds can be on feeders aimed at attracting 'cuter' song birds, they are striking and quite entertaining.

Thanks, Folks. In the first photo the birds were absolutely quiet and still. I almost wanted to get out of the car and look up to see what was of such interest.

I enjoy seeing the grackles display this behavior - it is either courting display to keep other males away or defensive to warn off predators - seems they were doing some displaying here!
