Black-headed gull

Chroicocephalus ridibundus

Description:

Despite its name the black-headed gull actually has a dark chocolate brown head. This lovely little gull is abundant in Norway during the summer (most migrate in the winter months). Their brown head is part of the summer plumage seen in adults, which also allows the white ring around their eye to be very distinctive.
