Ant mimic longicorn

Description:

A small black longicorn with white marks on the elytra giving the impression of a rotund abdomen of a black ant.

Habitat:

On flowering tea tree.

Notes:

I have encountered two beetles which appear to mimic the two predatory ants that are most commonly found hunting on plants, the jumping jack which is entirely black, (or rather, grey) like this one and the black and red bullant like in the link below. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b...
