Eastern Carpenter Bee

Easily confused with Bumblebees, the Eastern Carpenter Bee is the most common carpenter bee in the eastern US, thus the name. Both Carpenter and Bumblebees alike are extraordinarily important pollinators. Both People and Animals depend on this crucial pollination for food, shelter, medicine, clothing, and so much more.

One of the habits that makes the Carpenter Bee unwelcome is their knack for boring holes into the sides of wooded dwellings. However, due to their importance with regard to pollination, some people live with the damage caused.
