Coloeus monedula
The Jackdaw is a small gregarious corvid, roughly the size of smaller (feral) pigeon. The appearance is generally dark grey or blackish, but they are easily recognized by the light grey nape and pale iris, standing against much darker plumage. Lives and nest in colonies, often large, and often mix and feed together with other corvids - that was the case here, a large group of hooded crows was tagging along this park.
There were a lot of jack-jack-jack-jacking here, plenty of calls, a lot of agitation and communication - felt almost like assisting some kind of conference... but there were no imminent threat around. As mentioned above, this colonies was readily mixing and feeding with a large group of Hooded crows in a large urban park. The park is located on an island on Danube, in central Budapest - a very popular and crowded site in Budapest.
