Flat Bug

Aradus robustus

Description:

Thin black bug that moved very slowly on a decaying piece of wood, the bug was oval shaped, black, with wings and patterning. The bug stands up on the piece of wood, walks slowly, and crouches down again, blending himself into the decayed wood. He was about a millimeter high when he bent down. He was about 7 millimeters high, and had wings, but had no interest in flying. It was very dependent on its antennae. Aradus is the largest flat bug genus, consisting of 75 species.

Decaying wood.
