Golden Alexanders

Zizia aurea

Description:

Yellow flower clusters similar to carrot (same family) or yarrow (different leaves). About 18 inches high.

Habitat:

Partly sunny spots in damp woods. Native to CT.

Notes:

Similar species - Wild Parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) - nasty invasive that can cause phytophotodermatitis. I spend quite a while with a number of pics and field guides to get a proper ID.
