Description:

A tall, solitary mushroom with flat to dished scaly pileus 200mm across, creamy colour with few chocolate scales, upturned at margins, darker patch at centre; gills white, densely packed, turning up into centre; stipe narrow, slightly wider at bottom, cream coloured at top grading to dark at the base, frill one halfway down;

Habitat:

In the open, sandy ground with some thick running grasses, adjacent to dense ti-tree (Leptospermum) forest.
