Earth Worm / Ants

Lumbricidae

Description:

I was out checking on the weather when I noticed this earth worm covered in ants. There was a secondary worm behind this one (second photo) that was still alive and getting stung repeatedly by the ants. It seems as if the ants may have chased the worms out of the ground. There is a storm coming and the worms gather near the surface of the top soil while waiting for the rain.
