Tachinid Fly

Tachinidae

Description:

honey bee size but extremely hairy, black and yellow bands on abdomen.

Habitat:

montane rainforest

Notes:

This insect was flying around when we stopped for a rest on a forested ridge. I was doing a 4 day trek in southern China near the border with Myanmar. Being 'winter', there weren't a lot of insects around, so it was cool to see this.
