Eye-spotted Lady Beetle

Anatis mali

Description:

It's a ladybug but the coloring was really different and the spots were edged with a lighter colour. The size of the ladybug was also bigger than what I've usually seen.

mjgierke's identification is correct. Genus Anatis contains the largest lady beetles in North America, up to 12mm (1/2 inch) long. Species in this genus darken as they age; yours is a fairly elderly individual. It started as a light orange color, and if it continues to age it will eventually be almost black.
