Description:

Photo take at night ny the entrance light one of the 2,500 species of Cicada in México is call "Cigarra", about a 2.5 cm long transparent wings very strange eyes actually they where 4 on the same wall. The adult insect, known as an imago, is usually 2 to 5 cm long, although some tropical species can reach 15 cm Cicadas have prominent eyes set wide apart on the sides of the head, short antennae protruding between or in front of the eyes, and membranous front wings. Also, commonly overlooked, cicadas have three small eyes, or ocelli, located on the top of the head between the two large eyes that match the colour of the large eyes. Most cicadas go through a life cycle that lasts from two to five years. Some species have much longer life cycles, such as the North American genus, Magicicada, which has a number of distinct "broods" that go through either a 17-year or, in some parts of the world , a 13-year life cycle.
