The Pileated Woodpecker is a very large North American woodpecker. It inhabits the eastern United States deciduous forest, the Great Lakes, boreal forests of Canada, and parts of the Pacific Coast. Adults are 16-19 inches long and weighs 8.8-12 ounces.

Very nice! I've been listening and following these each week and I usually end up with pictures of red blurs or back lit silhouettes.
Wonderful shot.... becoming a rarer sight in my home area as less standing deadwood can be found. A spectacular bird.
