Dusky moorhen

Description:

Dark black , with a slim red bill and frontal shield, with yellow tip on bill. White patches on either side of the under-tail. Photo 4 shows adult feeding a juvenile , not quiet in adult colorings yet . Very shy also

Habitat:

Freshwater farm dam

Notes:

When swimming , it jerks its head and flicks its tail. Very uncommon in Tasmania ....so was great too see offspring :)
