Eastern Courtier

Sephisa chandra, Moore 1857

Notes:

This beautiful butterfly was spotted one afternoon at a remote place by the bank of River Subansiri while we'd stopped our rafts for snacks. Just then it sat on this dark rock when I was watching it hover for a while. I went down immediately on all fours, of course my chest well supported by the life jacket, my head hidden from the butterfly by my helmet, inch by inch crawled forward like a soldier in the battlefield, my Canon G12 in my hands, click, click, click. Got these few shots to share with you all!
