Loggerhead turtle

Caretta caretta

Loggerheads have a massive head compared to the rest of their body particularly with aged individuals. This species has five pairs of dcostal shields with the carapace normally a reddish brown to brown color.

Tropical and warm temperate waters worldwide

Must have hatched that night because there were a few of them around our boat but only for one night.

Brilliant spot! I'm yet to see one of these beauties, though my husband has seen one. Fantastic!
