Crown stick insect

Onchestus rentzi (male)

Description:

A thin delicate stick insect with tessellated wings( pic #5 ). This male also has bunny ears ( pic #3 )although smaller than his partner.

Habitat:

Native to Queensland, this specimen is captive bred and cannot survive outdoors in the Melbourne cold season.

Notes:

This male of the previous spotting can be confirmed by 1/ large wings. 2/ bulge on last dorsal segment. 3/ longer antennae. 4/ thin body
