Long-tailed Glossy Starling

Lamprotornis caudatus

An attractive all blue bird with a very long tail - it reaches aver 50cm, 35cm of its length seems to be the tail. Iridescent sheen everywhere, except the tail.

The Long-tailed Glossy Starling is a resident breeder in tropical Africa from Senegal east to Sudan, and found in open woodland and cultivation - like here, mixture of the two, close to the lake Shiroro.
