Please make certain that this species fits the mission statement for the Brooding behavior in insects and other invertebrates mission. The care must be provided by the actual parent, not just a surrogate adult. Thank you

Thanks for the ID suggestion. I've narrowed it down to Polistes apachus.

Oops! Just read your description... I can tell from the nest that it's not a mud dobber. Process of elimination right?

A wasp? I'm not sure what kind, but it's defiantly a wasp.
