White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Hello. My sister and I were walking in the woods behind her house and found this skull. It is roughly a little bigger than your hand. There are coyotes, deer, and raccoons, etc in the area. I am thrown off by the horn-like protrusions coming out from above the eye sockets and the sharp teeth. I do not think it is a deer skull due to the teeth, but would like to try to find out what it is. Thank you for any help you can give us!

Habitat:

Wooded area with a creek nearby. Deer, coyotes, racoons, and other various woodland animals like that in this area.
