Broom Rose Bush

Helianthemum scoparium

Description:

Green, sparse bush with yellow flowers with five petals. I didn't see leaves unless they were very thin and short. The third image is deceiving as it was growing right against grass. The last image shows it alone in the dry habitat. "This is a small perennial shrub bearing long, smooth stems and small flowers each with five bright yellow petals." - Wikipedia

Habitat:

Chaparral. This is native to California. "It is found in dry, sandy areas in hills and low mountains." - Wikipedia
