Description:

A small perching bird in the sparrow family. Round head, short stout bill and relatively long tail. Black head (like an executioners hood), reddish back and gray body. White on the underside of tail. The photos are of an Adult male during spring nesting season.

Habitat:

Woodlands, parks and backyards. This one is building a nest in the hedge in my front yard.
