Thanks Mayra :)
Excellent is hard o see the fruit and also interesting that you see it in Puerto Vallarta.
Gerardo, I just saw the same plant in Puerto Vallarta, it seems like a tomato. Good find and good you got the ID.
Wow!
Creo que si Jorge es una passiflora.
¿no crees que sea una passiflora?, he visto frutos parecidos en la costa.
Thanks Viv :)
Thanks ginhunter i find it fascinating too!
http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq5750.ht... - there is an image of fruits similar to yours Gerardo
I saw something nearly identical to this in La Fortuna, Costa Rica but I deleted the picture because it was blurry (wish I would not have). Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is. It is a fascinating species.
Thanks Alice, Dilek and Scott
i will check on Passiflora
We have a vine that has similar fruit here in Australia (though its orange not red) its a bush passion fruit Passiflora foetida. The tendrils holding the fruit look very similar, guess they could be closely related.
Very interesting,
That is a new one!
