Royal poinciana

Delonix regia

Description:

A bright flamboyant tree common in tropical habitats. Patches of forest turn red because of these spectacular trees. They produce large pendulate seed pods. I was a little disappointed to learn that they are not native but originate in Madagascar, the island of biodiversity.
