Spotting

Description:

Very crusty, golden-colored polypore found on a young tree. It was about 3" in length.

Habitat:

Found in forested area on the grounds of Tanglewood Nature Center.

Notes:

Like my last spotting of tinder conk https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/77..., this fungus was crawling with the same black insects and found a few feet away.
