Brachiopod Fossil

Description:

This rock contains two fossils. Both are molds of brachiopods. The rock measures 22.55 mm (.88 in) tall by 34.32 mm (1.35 in wide). The left fossil measures 9.02 mm (.35 in) tall by 7.62 mm (.30 in) wide. The right fossil measures 5.68 mm (.22 in) tall by 12.11 mm (.47 in) wide. These fossils date to the Devonian Period (416-359.2 million years ago).

Habitat:

Shore of a rocky brook (stream). Gully Brook, Willoughby, Ohio, USA.
